Lagoon 55

Location: Tortola, BVI

Maximum Occupancy: 8-12

The Lagoon 55 catamaran gives you a wide, stable platform with resort-level comfort, modern sail-handling systems, and generous living space, so you can train seriously, relax deeply, and enjoy every mile under sail.

The boat has a kitchen with several large salons, 6 washrooms/showers, a spacious navigation station, hydraulic swim platform, outdoor kitchen, large motorized dingy and extensive sail configurations.

  • State-of-the-art chartplotters, radar, AIS, and integrated instruments give you clear, reliable data at a glance. The Lagoon 55’s helm stations are set up for confident coastal passages, night entries, and tight anchorages.

  • From upgraded life rafts and harness points to well-placed jacklines, flares, and fire suppression systems, the boat is equipped to meet demanding offshore standards. Safety gear is stowed logically so the crew can respond quickly when it counts.

  • Twin diesel engines, generous fuel capacity, and responsive controls make close-quarters manoeuvring surprisingly simple for a boat of this size. Bow access and wide side decks give your crew space and stability when docking or mooring.

  • Expansive salons, a flybridge lounge, and multiple outdoor dining areas turn the Lagoon 55 into a floating villa. Large windows, excellent ventilation, and private cabins with en-suite heads keep everyone comfortable between passages.

  • Engines, rigging, and critical systems are serviced on a strict schedule, with professional inspections before every training block or voyage. You step aboard a boat that is clean, dialled in, and ready to sail.

Chartering Abroad

For courses taught abroad or without a predetermined boat, we charter modern performance cruisers that feel safe, responsive, and comfortable to live aboard. We look for young boats, proven designs, and the right onboard systems so you can focus on learning, not worrying about the boat.

  • We target late-model boats, typically three years old or newer, selected for reliability, clean systems, and up-to-date safety gear.

  • We favour solid production brands like Beneteau and Dufour in the 40–45 ft range, offering the right balance of handling, space, and real-world cruising behaviour.

  • In the Caribbean, every training boat includes a generator and air conditioning so you can rest well, reset, and stay sharp in the heat between sailing days.
